A Pride All Canadians can Share
As the Turin Winter Olympic Games come to a close, Opposition leader Bill Graham extends heartfelt congratulations to the Canadian Olympic team as they return home.
“On behalf of all Canadians and of my colleagues in the Liberal caucus, I wish to warmly congratulate all our Canadian athletes, their coaches, and those who supported them throughout the Turin Winter Olympics,” said Mr. Graham.
“All of our athletes have earned the admiration of all Canadians. They have given the best of themselves, in the true spirit of the Olympic Games, and Canada is fortunate to have such ambassadors.”
Mr. Graham also expressed his admiration for those athletes who won medals. “The Canadian team did better at the Turin Olympics than it has done at any Winter Olympic Games in history. The dedication to excellence and fair play of our women and men is something we can all be proud of.”
With a view to the approaching 2010 Vancouver-Whistler Winter Olympic Games approach, Mr. Graham offered the encouragement and support of the Liberal Party of Canada.
“Canada’s athletes can count on our support to ensure that they have the tools they need to once again make us proud, four years from now, when Canada hosts the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.”
