HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Well everyone, today is Thanksgiving!!! And of course tommorow is e-day here in Canada, the tme has come for the voters to speak after the leaders have spoken for countless weeks. I personally will be supporting the Liberal party of course and have already advance voted. I truly hope Canadians elect a more greener party to govern in the Liberals and a party who will tackle the tough economic times presently and upcoming. This post will simply outline reasons on why not to vote Conservative tommorow if you really needed anymore.
The following was taken off the comments section off a news media website which echoes my sentiments to a tee!
A few points for those who are considering a vote for Harper:
(a) Conservatives have tried to sell out as many Canadian interests to American companies as they can. Harper tried to sellout our ENTIRE sattelite technology, which we are so proud of, to the United States. It is only after the information leaked and the Canadians made a huge noise, that he decided to back down on the deal.
(b) If it was for Harper, we would be suffering enormous casualties in Iraq. Remember he was the one who also agreed with Bush that there were WMDs in Iraq, citing "proof".
(c) We have the second largest oil reserve in the world. Guess who owns most of the drilling and exploration rights? American oil companies. Yet we are pay more than the US for gasoline. Has he done anything about it, other than offer a 2 cent reduction in the price of gas? Which by the way is an INSULT to us working folk.
(d) Harper AND his cronies have repeatedly LIED to parliment on MANY occasions about the war in Afghanistan. Obviously he cares nothing for our troops as he plays them like pawns.
(e) His recent lie about the Cadman tapes is just the beginning in many more scandals to come. What about the income trust fiasco? He robbed mostly seniors, our parents and grandparents of their savings. Would you stand for that, robbing seniors?
Tory times are tough times.Remember Lyin' Brian.Remember Mike Harris.Dion has a vision. Honesty and Integrity will prevail.Harper bases his campaign on lies and character attacks for a long time. Time to kick his butt to the curb. I have read each parties platform and the Liberals have a much stronger team than the one man show named Stephen Harper.
{x} liberal
Honesty and integrity are far better qualities than attack ads against a person's personality and language skills. Canada is about compassion, inclusiveness and kindness and Dion has best exemplified those Canadian qualities.Canada's leading scientists, Nobel Peace Prize recepients, have endorsed the Green Shift as have top economists.Quebecers are leading the way this time, it is time to say "bye" to Stephen Harper and welcome to Stephane Dion and hopefully Elizabeth May will win too in Nova Scotia.
Let's move Canada towards a positive future with a cleaner environment and a strong economy for the future.Enough of the bullying and lies, let's move on.The final straw was when it was revealed in court Harper lied when he said he did not offer "financial compensation" to the late Chuck Cadman, the independent MP, who voted with his conscience and voted for Paul Martin and not for Stephen Harper. Now Chuck Cadman can rest in peace after speaking from beyond to reveal the lies of the current PM.Time for a positive change in Canada.
Sorry, but my vote won't be going to Mr. Harper. I can't bring myself to support an individual who has spent the majority of this campaign preaching to the converted at tightly controlled rallys, and restricting severely, access to local candidates by the media. It gives insult to the intelligence of the voters. We NEED factual information to make an intelligent choice, and when the Prime Minister attempts to block the dissemination of such information, it should raise suspicions.
I WANT to know the true costs of the Canadian Mission to Afghanistan, what the costs will be associated with Mr. Harper's plans toward emmission controls. "Not very much" isn't an acceptable response, coming from anyone with an economics background. Real leaders have the courage of their convictions to be upfront and forthcoming....not hiding behind scripted and tightly controlled rallys and questions where the agenda is one of their making.
Harper went forth with this election because the economy was heading south and he wanted a majority. He didn't get is majority which says the Canadian people do not support him. The economy is still going south. Harper is finished. The choice is clear anything but Harper.
